<p>He has said in a letter to Union Minister Jairam Ramesh as the latter had written to Yeddyurappa saying that the State had not consulted the Centre before giving permission for mining. Yeddyurappa said that at no point of time the State has said that it had consulted the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests while taking the decision.<br /><br />In fact, the decisions was to permit mining subject to the following conditions- Obtaining all necessary permission under the Forest Act and required environmental clearances from the MoEF; obtaining approval from the Centre under the Mines Act and Rules; mining lease proposals will be considered only in case of those would be adding value within the State and the investment proposals being cleared by the high level clearance committee of the State.<br /><br />Yeddyurappa told Ramesh said that Karnataka will at no point deviate from the law of the land in any matter.</p>
