Information on train reservation facilities

 Reservation facilities are available for passengers through the Computerized Passenger Reservation System (PRS) all over the Indian Railways.

The PRS is a fully computerised system managed and maintained by CRIS without any manual intervention in the reservation activities. There are about 3,675 PRS centres spread all over India. Online reservation facilities are provided by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) through website www.irctc.co.in. The system is secure and rumours on its manipulation are not be believed, according to a press release issued by the Department of Railways. 

At Konkan Railway stations, catering services are under the administrative control of the railway whereas catering services in most of the trains passing through Konkan Railway are under the administrative control of the respective train-owning railways.

In the trains where catering services are not made available by the train-owning railways, Konkan Railway provides in-train vending services through licenced contractors. The rate list of various items sold at stations is displayed at the stalls and is also available with the vendors. The rate list is also made available on the website of Konkan Railway (link–http://konkanrailway.com/department/viewdept/58).
