'No decision yet on giving out copies of SSLC topper's papers'

Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar on Thursday said distributing the copies of the answer scripts of B S Ranjan, who scored 625/625 in the SSLC examinations, to other students for their benefit might lead to a problem in the future.

Speaking to media persons after honouring the SSLC topper at his residence at Kadadakatte in the steel town on Thursday, he said many people on Facebook had made such a demand.

“The department can’t take a decision based on this. Discussions are on in the department in this regard. Distributing copies of the papers might lead to a debate or other problems. The marks awarded to him are based on the discretion of the evaluators. So, it is not fair to discuss the answer scripts of Ranjan in public. The department will take a suitable step after discussing the pros and cons,” he said.

PU results

Ratnakar said that the II PU results are likely to be announced on May 25.

“We are planning to issue scanned copies of answer scripts to students this time.”

The minister presented a cash prize of Rs 5,000 to the SSLC topper.
