Two more seek JD(S) tickets for RS election

Two fresh contenders vying to enter the Rajya Sabha have now knocked on the doors of the JD(S) seeking its support.According to sources in the party, B M Farooq, brother of Congress MLA Mohiuddin Bava, who is keen on making it to Parliament, has been in talks with the party leadership.

It is learnt that the party is even contemplating Farooq’s candidature. Farooq, a realtor, is said to have met JD(S) leader H D Deve Gowda on Sunday. He is also the owner of the Karnataka Premier League team Mangalore United.

The names of Reddy Veeranna, Managing Director of Manyata Tech Park and A C Shanmugam, Chairman of the Rajarajeshwari Dental College are also doing the rounds for the candidature from the JD(S).

The party will take a final call in this regard on May 26, during a meeting of its legislature party, added the sources.
