EC notifies Council elections

The Election Commission of India on Tuesday issued notification for elections for 7 seats of the Legislative Council with MLAs forming the electoral college.

By their present strength, Congress can win 3, and BJP and JD(S) 1 each on their own. May 31 is the last date for filing nominations and elections, if required, will be held on
June 10.

Karnataka Legislative Assembly secretary (in-charge) S Murthy on Tuesday issued a notification for the elections to Rajya Sabha scheduled for June 11. The elections will be held for 4 seats. May 31 is the last date for filing the nomination papers. The secretary is the returning officer for the elections.
