They aim for the stars and shoot high

Students top multiple entrance exams

Students from Karnataka have excelled with great scores in the Karnataka Common Entrance exam. A handful of them have done remarkably well by securing ranks across the streams. 

Among them is Ananth G, a student of Alva’s PU College, Moodbidri, Dakshina Kannada district. He has secured first rank in medical/dental, BSc (Agriculture), BVSc entrance tests, third rank in Indian System of Medicine (ISM) and Homeopathy and sixth rank in B-Pharma/Pharma-D entrance tests.

With an array of options to choose from, this achiever aspires to be a doctor. “I want to serve the people. So I am choosing the noble profession of medicine. I want to pursue my studies in Bangalore Medical College. In fact, I was totally disconnected from TV and mobile for the last two years,” Alva’s Education Foundation Chairman Dr M Mohan Alva has announced a cash prize of Rs five lakh to Ananth.

The achievement of Sanjay M Goudar from Bengaluru is no different. A student of Seshadripuram PU College, he has secured first in ISM and Homeopathy, second rank in medical/ dental and fifth rank in BPharma and Pharma-D entrance tests “Since 1st PU I have been preparing for JEE mains. I also attended AIPMTcoaching classes. I used to solve at least 50-60 multiple choice questions per day,” the medical aspirant said, adding, “In April,I solved model question papers which gave me a thorough revision.” He has qualified for the second stage of National Level Bio Olympiad.

Vachanashri Patil, student of Shaheen PU College, Bidar, stood third in BVSc, ninth in BPharma, Pharma-D, third in medical/dental, and second in ISM and Homeopathy. She expressed gratitude to her teachers for their guidance. After completion of MBBS, she hopes to pursue masters in Radiology. 

Bengaluru’s Milind Kumar Vaddiraju had made it to the headlines even earlier when he topped the JEE Mains. Yet again, he has made it to the top by securing first rank in engineering, B-Pharma and Pharma-D. 

The others who have secured multiple ranks are: Sampath Koti, Sourabha Bharadwaj B MDivya A Jamakhandi, Niranjan Kamath, Comedk second rank holder Rahul R, Neha S C and others.
