Themes as varied as ‘Splash Basics’, ‘Splash Youth’, ‘Splash Smart’ and the newly-launched ‘Splash Characters’ have helped garner attention to Splash’s ‘Spring-Summer 2016’ collection.

   The collection comprises casual, formal and semi-formal outfits that are chic and stylish. It is inspired by skate culture and contemporary designs. With the use of 80s prints, it helps bring alive the retro look.

    The range for men is a medley of mono-coloured shirts, long T-shirts with quirky conversation prints and half-sleeved hoodies in loose fit fabrics and jogger coordinates.
The brand’s spokesperson says, “The vibrant and new summer collection from Splash will definitely revamp one’s wardrobe and make them ready for summer. The collection captures outfits and styles for all moods and occasions for the young — from casual weekend wear, everyday casuals, work wear, smart casuals and formal evening dresses.”
The collection for women displays an elaborate corporate and evening wear. The range includes lace and panel details and oversized geometrical prints in light fabrics.

     It also ensures a feminine appeal with a selection of creatively designed dresses and skirts that have interesting asymmetrical details.

    The smart essentials include dresses, maxis, long shrugs, contrasting collared jackets and long skirts.

    For men, there are an array of options from polka dot shirts, chequered shirts, blazers, printed polo T-shirts to mandarin and paisley  shirts. The Vintage range for woman is Bohemian in character and displays a tasteful collection of floral and mixed prints, long skirts, loose printed kaftans, tunic tops and palazzos in distinctive colours such as celestial blues, orange rust and warm taupe.

The Splash XXL collection features trousers, fit pants, tops, jackets in light monochromatic colours for this season. This range leans to ethnic prints and layered garments.

Antonette Augustin,  a student of Mount Carmel College, wore a blue and white crop top with a pencil skirt. She picked up a black bag to complete the look.
Punchline: “It was a chic look. I felt very comfortable in the dress. It also gave a very sportive vibe and the fit was good. I love the cute zip on the side.”
Price: Crop top (Rs 1,499), pencil skirt (Rs 1,899) and black bag (Rs 1,999).

Ashish Varghese, a student of CMR Institute of Management Studies, wore a blue printed polo T-shirt  with off-white shorts and a brown belt.
Punchline: “I love wearing shorts. My look had a ‘feel good’ factor to it and I can  wear the shirt and shorts at anytime.”
Prices: Blue printed polo T-shirt (Rs 1,499), belt (Rs 899) and off-white linen shorts (Rs 1,699).

Chandni Hemdev, a graduate of CMS College, slipped into a denim shirt dress. She picked up a white hand bag to complete the look.
Punchline: “Denim is one fabric that is popular throughout the year. It’s a casual outfit and I would like wear it for a brunch or a party. I love the cut of the dress, especially the cut near the thigh.”

Salim Irshad, a student of The Oxford College of Management, wore a maroon cotton shirt with ‘khakhi’ jogger pants. He picked up a waistcoat and a pair of loafers too.
Punchline: “The clothes are very comfortable. It is casual yet classy and can be worn outdoors, at a party or for any event.”

Ethen, a student of M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology, wore a character T-shirt and denim jeans. He completed his look with a denim shirt.
Punchline: “I love the combination of the outfit. Denim is an evergreen fabric and makes anyone look smart. The ‘superhero’ look is also trending currently so I am pleased with my outfit.”

Suchi Utmani, a graduate of St Joseph’s College of Commerce, slipped into a black dress.
Punchline: “I love this dress as it makes me look thinner than I am. I have always wanted a classy, evening gown so this one is just perfect. The fit is comfortable and great. I would definitely wear this for a party.”
Price: Black-laced gown (Rs 2,999) and ring (Rs 499).
