Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the country is talking to other gas consuming countries to have a reasonable pricing mechanism.

“We must have a co-operation between all the LNG and gas consuming countries, we must create a situation for a reasonable, rational and affordable price. India is taking the lead to create a network between these major gas consumers,” Pradhan said on the sidelines of the Gateway of India dialogue.

According to Pradhan, India is looking to be an energy hub for itself as well as its neighbouring countries.

India wants to have an energy base for its own consumption and neighbouring Asian countries, Pradhan added.

“We are preparing ourselves as an energy hub for a lot of Asian countries. We are already connected to Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan and are now talking to Myanmar,” Pradhan said.
