JOIN USA 32-year-old autorickshaw driver was murdered at Garepalya near Bommanahalli Junction in the early hours of Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Imran, a resident of Subhash Nagar, near Madiwala. A few passersby informed the police control room about a body being found in Garepalya. The Bommanahalli police rushed to the spot and found the body, near an autorickshaw. They identified the body from the display card in the autorickshaw and informed his family.
Police suspect that the incident might have occurred between 5 am and 6.30 am. Preliminary investigations revealed that the assailants called Imran to discuss certain issues during which an argument broke out and they hit Imran on his head with an iron rod.
Imran suffered severe head injuries and collapsed. Noticing him lying in a pool of blood, the assailants fled the spot. Police suspect that personal issues could be the motive behind the murder. His family members and kin informed the police that he was married thrice and had divorced the first wife.
A case has been registered with the Bommanahalli police and investigation is on.
