BabyBerry takes lead; to reach 5 lakh parents in 12 months
BabyBerry, a mobile-based parenting app developed by CereBrahm Innovations that makes the first step to motherhood easy and smart, has reached the stature of India’s no. 1 parenting app crossing over 1.5 lakh downloads in just over six months since its launch in November 2015.

Speaking with Deccan Herald about the app, Dev Vig, Chief Marking Officer with CereBrahm Innovations, “We are looking at bringing on 5 lakh parents on board in next 12 months. We, in alliance and validation by experts, have published more than 1,200 articles focusing on topics related to pregnancy and post pregnancy (till three years of child’s age). The app currently witnesses a huge amount of traffic, majority of which comes from content consumption.”

BabyBerry is a flagship product of CereBrahm, a Bengaluru-based start up which builds the entire healthcare ecosystem founded in 2012 by Balasubramaniam Venkatachalam (CEO), his wife Subhashini Subramaniam (COO), and Dev Vig. BabyBerry has raised $1 million in funding from an industrialist Nitin Bagamane in February this year for product development and marketing. Besides this, the company has developed CereBrate, through which it conducts surveys, collect and analyze customer feedback in real time.

The parenting app comes with features like digital vaccination chart and reminders, WHO growth chart, milestone chart, health records management and access to the nearest doctors based on geo location. It also offers BerryCart an online shop for baby essentials, toys/games and more at attractive discounts.

Repository of contents
Talking about the business model, Dev Vig said “With a huge repository of contents, we have decided to explore content syndication opportunities with leading publications. We are also working with companies who are keen on promoting their products on our app.”

“Soon we will be launching online consultation services wherein our expert panel comprising of gynaecologists, paediatricians, nutritionists, parenting counsellors and more, will take questions/enquiries on different topics from parents for about two hours per expert on daily basis,” Dev concluded.
