Prohibitory orders in City till Friday

This follows the protests in some parts of the State by a community against an alleged defamatory article in a Kannada daily.

According to the prohibitory orders imposed under section 144 CrPC, the following activities are banned: Gathering of five or more persons in groups; taking out processions and assemblies; carrying weapons, arms, bricks, and instruments which can physical injury; displaying bodies or their effigies, making provocative speeches, singing, making oral renditions, exhibiting films, banners, etc.

Tight security
Security will be tightened in KG Halli, DJ Halli, Commercial Street, Shivajinagar, Kalasipalya, City Market, Nagawara, Hegde Nagar and other sensitive areas. Railway stations falling under the Bangalore Division have tightened security arrangements.
“We have increased security at the City station and a few others falling under the Bangalore Division,” said Divisional Railway Manager, Akhil Agrawal. He also said that there were no problems encountered on trains running coming from Shimoga and Hassan to the City.
