CBSE gets chairman

Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi, a 1987-batch IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed the new chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC)headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved Chaturvedi’s appointment to the post which went vacant with the expiry of the term of Vineet Joshi, a 1992-batch IAS officer of the Manipur-Tripura cadre, in December 2014.

According to a notification issued  by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Chaturvedi has been appointed for an overall period of five years on central deputation up to December 15, 2020 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
