Akaash posts fine comeback

State champion in second spot; Dhruv remains in front

Karnataka champion Akaash Ashok Kumar made a good comeback and secured the second spot on day three of the qualifying rounds of the ARC 2nd Bangalore Open tenpin bowling championship at Blu-O in Orion Mall here.

Akaash scored a fine 718 (269, 235, 214) in his first block of three games and then followed it up with 696 (241, 225, 230) in his second to finish with a pinfall aggregate of 1414.

National champion Dhruv Sarda remained in the lead with a combined score of 1420.Karnataka’s Misam Rizvi too had a great outing as he scored the highest block of the day with 723.

In the men’s Graded A Masters qualifying round, there were no changes at the top as Delhiites Chetan Bansal (1332) and Vikhas Khurana (1318) stayed in the number one and number two positions respectively.

It was no different with the women’s Graded Category, as Chetana R of Karnataka continued to lead for the third day in a row with a pinfall of 1185 and Judy Alban (1139) remained in second.

In the men’s graded B Masters event, Nikhil Katyal from Delhi won with a score of 1600 from eight games. Second place was secured by Saurabh Sod (1567) while Karnataka’s Kishan Kumar C (1556) finished third.
