Fire at BMTC scrapyard

As there was much oil residue, the fire tenders took nearly three hours to extinguish the fire. 

A lot of people had gathered at the scrapyard considering the recent fire mishap at Carlton Towers.

The damage caused has been estimated to be minimal. No injuries were reported in the incident as the workers rarely used the space.

The Transport department had dumped waste materials, such as old barrels, bus seats, cushions, tyres, rubber items and others.

The fire might have been triggered by an accidental throwing of a cigarette bud, suspected the fire personnel.
