Akaash ends on top in qualifying

Judy wins Women's Graded event

Akaash Ashok Kumar of Karnataka scored the highest block of three-game series with 745 to top the table at the end of qualifying rounds of the Open Category in the ARC 2nd Bangalore Open Tenpin Bowling Championship currently underway at Blu-O, Orion Mall here on Friday.

Akaash, who started with a low game of 199 in Game one, improved in Game two with a score of 247 and finished Game three with 299, missing the perfect game by just one pin.

Akaash stood first at the end of qualifying rounds with total pinfall of 1463 and was followed by national champion Dhruv Sarda (1442). Misam Rizvi of Karnataka ended in the third spot with total pinfall of 1441.

Vikas Khurana and Hitesh Khanna of Delhi made it to the Masters Finals of Open category as well as the Men’s Graded A category.

Seven bowlers from Karnataka, five from Delhi, two from Tamil Nadu and one each from Andhra Pradesh and UAE made it to the Masters Finals of the Open category.

In the Women’s Graded Masters Final, Judy Alban of Karnataka won the title scoring 1444 in block of eight games. Going into the final frame of the eighth game,
Judy required seven pins to overtake Anukriti Bhishnoi of Haryana.

She scored a strike and beat Anukriti Bhishnoi (1441) by three pins.
The second block of eight games in the Open category and step-ladder finals are postponed to Sunday due to Karnataka bandh.
