A spacious and well-lit  place with beautiful lights on all sides, ‘Parika’, a multi-cuisine restaurant, is located on Richmond Road inside Ramanashree Hotel.

The ambience is simple yet classy. The decor is nicely done with earthen pots, ‘firkis’, bangles and glass compartments. They serve cuisines ranging from North Indian and Chinese to Andhra and Mangalurean. The Punjabi food here is mouth-watering. The owners have attempted to make the place look like a ‘dhaba’ which adds to the dining experience.

Their signature dishes include ‘Kadai murgh’, ‘Chicken pepper fry’ and ‘Tandoori chicken’. The ‘Machhi Amritsari’ is a favourite among customers and the ‘Goan curry’ is a delicious option as well.

Their Punjabi fare is something to look forward to. The ‘lassi’ is quite nice and the ‘chaats’ are a much sought-after snack at the restaurant. They have a buffet too where one can go for starters like ‘Crispy potato’ and ‘Murgh tikka’ and salads like ‘Fruit chaat’. The main course has a wonderful variety of items like ‘Mutton railway curry’, ‘rotis’ and ‘biryani’. The desserts include ‘Caramel custard’ and ‘Mango katli’. There are drinks and cocktails to accompany the dishes and they also have a bar seating area.

A special aspect is that the waiters are dressed in ‘dhotis’; giving the restaurant a very authentic feel. Sometimes, they even perform bhangra for the customers.

The service at the restaurant is also good. The only unpleasant part about the place are the uncomfortable chairs. The place generally sees families on weekends and large office crowds on weekdays.

All in all, it’s a good place to head to with one’s family to enjoy some authentic food.
‘Parika’ is located at 16, Rajaram Mohan Roy Road, Richmond Road. For details, call 49652474.
