Four years after emerging from the horrors of childhood abuse to win America’s first Olympic judo gold, Kayla Harrison was a woman on a mission as she returned to defend her crown in the 78kg category in Judo.

Harrison provided one of the most compelling stories of the 2012 Games when she muscled her way to victory in the 78 kilogram category. And there was no surprise when the 26-year-old retained her crown with win over France’s opponent Audrey Tcheumeo.

Having announced her retiremnt post her final fight, Harrison plans to devote her life to helping victims of sexual abuse. Though she confirmed she has received offers of mixed martial arts, Harrison wants to help victims of sexual abuse through her ‘Fearless Foundation’.
