<p>Two children and a motorcylist were killed and a policeman injured in mishaps involving kite string during Independence Day celebrations on Monday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>In separate mishaps, the two three-year-olds had stuck their heads out of the sunroofs of their parents' cars when they were slashed by some `manjha'.<br /><br />Sanchi Goyal was looking out of the sunroof in northwest Delhi’s Ranibagh when some metal-coated kite string got entangled around her neck.<br /><br />She had gone out for a movie with her parents in Naraina and the mishap happened on their way back home. The car passed through an area where people were flying kites to celebrate Independence Day.<br /><br />The parents didn’t realise what was happening till their daughter dropped on to the mother’s lap with her neck bleeding. <br /><br />Before that she was laughing throughout the ride, the parents told police.<br />They had also taken some pictures of the child standing in the car, part of her body sticking out from the sunroof.<br /><br />Sanchi was taken to hospital, where she was declared brought dead. <br /><br />Her father is a businessman and mother a housewife. She was their only child.<br /><br />In a similar accident, three-year-old Harry died when he was looking out from the sunroof while travelling with his parents and an uncle. They were going in a car from Subhash Park to Tilak Nagar in west Delhi.<br /><br />In Keshopur near Vikaspuri, a biker died when some kite’s string caught his neck. Zafar Khan was coming from his sister’s home and going towards Nihal Vihar around 5.30 pm. <br />As he tried to free himself, the `manjha' got further entangled and he fell from his motorcycle.<br /><br />He was taken to the hospital by a passer-by but he died due to the head injury he suffered on falling off the motorcycle.<br /><br />A policeman on patrol on his motorcycle was injured in Anand Vihar on Independence Day. He couldn’t see the `manjha' while riding and got a cut on his neck, said police. <br />Thirty-year-old sub-inspector M K Manoj was on duty at around 6 pm when the incident took place. <br /><br />He was taken to the hospital and was discharged after treatment. <br /></p>
