Bhaskar Shetty murder: CID to take over probe from local police

Superintendent of Police K T Balakrishna said the police received the official order on the transfer of businessman Bhasker Shetty murder case to CID on Wednesday morning.

The case will be handed over to the CID as soon as its officials arrive here, he said and added that he is no more authorised to reveal the investigation details. The police would stop working on the case once the case is handed over to CID, he added.

Senior assistant public prosecutor Praveen Kumar R N said the CID  would receive all the investigation details, including the samples from the police and carry out the investigation further. The CID has a special privilege to seek the police custody of the suspects, if need arises. Until then, the judicial custody continues, he added.

Hearing of application

The hearing of the application for the DNA profiling of the blood samples of the mother and the elder brother of the deceased would come before the court on Thursday. The application was moved by the police on August 13.
