Pinto does star turn

Kieth Pinto grabbed a five-wicke haul as Mangalore Zone defeated Shimoga Zone by six wickets in the KSCA under-19 inter-moffussil cricket tournament here.

Mangalore’s Pinto, with figures five for 26, wreaked havoc with the ball, while Sreekar Ganiga (2/26) and Abhilash Shetty (2/30) also contributed, as Shimoga, who batted first were bowled out for just 103 in 36 overs.  

In reply, Sureen MU smashed an unbeaten 49 as Mangalore Zone reached the target (104/4) without much trouble in just 28 overs.

In the other game, Mysore Zone bowlers produced a fine performance to outclass Raichur Zone by ten wickets.

Batting first, Raichur posted just 106 in 31 overs. Yodhan Hrudhay (2/23), Sai Shiv Narayan (2/21) and Madhu Prasad (2/6), were the wicket-takers for Mysore.

In response, Mysore rode unbeaten knocks from Kishan S Bendare (49 n.o.) and Dheemanth B (38 n.o.) to overhaul the target in just 26.1 overs.
Meanwhile, a combined team effort from Dharwad Zone  saw them run away with a four-wicket victory over Tumkur Zone.
