When Sandeep Devgan returned from the US to start something on his own, he wasn’t sure what he wanted to experiment with.

He knew there were entrepreneurial opportunities in Asia and it is growing. But he realised that it was difficult to find like-minded people to network with.

That’s when he partnered with Pramod Mittapalli and Pavan Kumar to start a space where companies and other like-minded people come together — ‘Commune Coworkers’.

Sandeep says, “The current generation of entrepreneurs prefer to work in places where they can feel free to come and go as they please. They want to work in a community where they meet other individuals to collaborate and be more productive. The space we have created aims to do the same.”

Located in the heart of Koramangala, this 12,500 square feet office operates as an open space for both private offices with conference room facilities and a shared workspace.

It is designed in four individual floors, each with a separate theme. The ground floor is the garage or 'the incubator', the first floor is the cafe, second is the workshop and the third is a studio. One can use it as one wants.

“Our Unique Selling Point is giving the best quality service with premium offerings such as high-speed internet, centralised air-condition and add-ons like Skype room, event space and open terrace space,” adds Sandeep.

Another reason to open this space is to offer better customer services. Sandeep says, “Having lived in the US, I have noticed that customer service and individual help are of primary importance there. It was difficult to find that kind of help here. We wanted to bridge that gap as well. ‘Commune’ is about fixing all these problems and more.”

Many established companies have opted for this building to work in and the founders are happy to see that there is a better outcome for the employees.

“We’ve heard from the companies taking the space that the employees are looking forward to coming to the office. I think that’s what lacked in the entrepreneurial world here — to actually be excited to come to office and give their best. With the free environment and the service we provide, the companies are also getting a better turnover,” smiles Sandeep.

With multiple companies working under the same roof, ‘Commune Coworks’ is also creating a community feeling among the employees.

The co-working space allows one to interact with others to collaborate and learn from the other successful individuals.
