The world of Willy Wonka

For many Bengalureans, ‘Bliss Chocolates’ was a chocolate factory that brought a smile to their faces. Now, presenting that brand in a whole new avatar is ‘Smoor’, a premium range of couverture chocolates that one can indulge in at Indiranagar. With an enhanced quality of chocolates, the owner Vimal Sharma has also upgraded the place into a lounge, giving it a completely fresh look.

Smooth, clean and subtle colours have been used for the ambience, and the aroma of chocolates and freshly baked pizzas only adds to the inviting appeal of the place. With an open kitchen format, one can see the chefs get busy with making desserts  and other items on the menu.

The mocktails include an interesting range like ‘Very Berry Cooler’, ‘Orange Mojito’ and ‘Innocent Passion’. The non-alcoholic drinks have their respective flavours in every sip, giving the customer exactly what they have asked for. One of the unique items in the appetisers is the ‘Quinoa salad’ with a honey ginger dressing. The ‘Chicken Caesar salad’ has the right amount of Romaine lettuce, garlic croutons and dressing with grated Parmesan cheese. It’s crunchy and salty and one can feel the grated cheese melting in their mouth.

For those who have a craving for soup, the ‘Thyme scented mushroom soup’ and the ‘Crab and prawn bisque’ are recommended. Bringing in more flavour for your palate is the ‘Chicken lasagne’ that is layered in freshly made pasta sheets with minced chicken in tomato sauce and topped with Parmesan cheese. Unlike the usual ones, the layers are still intact when one cuts into them. The ‘Ravioli in almond butter sauce’ is soft, chewy and delicate, making for a good pasta option.

Along with the selection of chocolates, the freshly baked pizzas are also an attraction here. The ‘Paneer tikka’, ‘Barbecue chicken’ and ‘Provencale’ are some of the recommended choices. They even have Asian delights like Thai curry with rice.

Apart from the desserts displayed at the counter, it’s the sundaes that take the sweet experience to a new level altogether. One can enjoy the ‘Rainbow macaron’, ‘Raspberry and lychee’ or the ‘Indulgent chocolate’. The plated desserts are also a highlight. The ‘Coco Indiana’ is a beautiful plate of coconut and turmeric cake, coconut mousse, ‘khova’ crumbs, lemon curd, curry leaf powder and coconut tuiles that will easily bring back sweet memories.

But if you are a chocolate lover, don’t miss out on the ‘Ecuador hot choco’ which includes flourless chocolate cake, hazelnut praline sauce, crispy hazelnut pieces, brandy snaps, milk chocolate curls, chocolate soil and in-house chocolate ice cream. To end the indulgent meal, a hot chocolate would be perfect.

‘Smoor’ is located at 1131, HAL 2nd Stage, 100 Feet Road. For details, call 25211901.
