<p> The Congress on Friday wondered whether Reliance Industries had sought permission from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to use Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photograph to promote its telecom service.<br /><br /></p>.<p>“If permission was granted to Reliance, then we can see the prime minister promoting chocolates and other products,” AICC spokesperson Ajay Maken said when asked to comment on advertisements featuring Modi.<br /><br /><br />Maken said if the prime minister’s photograph has been used without permission, then the Prime Minister’s Office should take legal action.<br /><br />Kejriwal slams PM<br />Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took a dig at Modi calling him “Mr Reliance”.<br />The chief minister also accused the prime minister of “openly endorsing” a commercial product.<br /><br />“Modiji you keep modelling for Reliance ads. Labourers across the country will teach you a lesson in 2019,” Kejriwal said on Twitter.<br /><br />“Any more proof required to prove that Modiji is in Ambani’s pockets?” the chief minister.<br />Twitterati had a field day in taking pot shots at Modi.<br /><br />“If Jio doesn’t work as well as promised, will @PMOIndia be liable for action under celebrity endorsement law?” said Pawan Khera referring to the Consumer Protection Bill. The Consumer Protection Bill is pending before Parliament.<br /><br /></p>
