With an aim to leverage the idle capacity of vehicles by matching the supply to the demand, an IIT Kharagpur graduate, Pushkar Singh, along with his batchmates, Sudarshan Ravi and Ankit Parasher, started LetsTransport.in in August 2015. The company offers ‘last mile’ logistics solutions that are professional, economical and structured on an aggregated network of vehicles.

Within just five months of its establishment as a bootstrapped company, LetTransport.in made a strategic move by acquiring another player from the industry, Shifter — an online mini-truck procurement service. The brand follows a transparent pricing model, which is based on kilometers travelled and duration engaged.

Sharing the USP of the company, Singh, who is co-founder and Director of LetsTransport, said, “We have developed technologies that are quite relevant to the enterprise. We are able to predict failures as well as automate the entire transaction, which makes the entire system much more scalable.”

The Bengaluru-based company ensures reliability via technology, which monitors the service of each partnered vehicle to deliver a consistent consumer experience. The company, in addition to Bengaluru, has been offering services in Delhi, Chennai and Tiruchirappalli. Now it is keen on expanding to two more tier II cities in South India.

“We are conducting pilot studies in a couple of places. We expect that before the end of this year, we will launch our operations in two more places,” said Singh.
With a growing team, and repeat and referral customers, the company is taking 800 bookings a day in Bengaluru, with clients from industries like food, retail/distribution and startups. With 2,000 trips in June 2015, the company has been making 26,000 bookings per month at present, with 650 truck-owners on board.

Sharing his future plans, Singh said, “We envision creating a fulfilment network infrastructure, which businesses cannot replicate. We have an aggregation of demand and supply to become much more efficient in terms of reliability. Our vision is to become the ‘go-to logistics player’ for the last-mile distribution, or the intra-city and state distribution network for any client.” The combined expertise of the founders in diverse fields such as strategy, operations, business and product development helped the company flourish.

The company has already begun generating operational profits since March this year. “We have raised $1.3 million from Rebright Partners and founders of Travel Boutique online last year. However, the biggest challenge that we face is to create a mature market both from the perspective as well as from the driver’s side,” Singh concluded.
