Dasara arts committee plans slew of events for Nada Habba

Dasara Fine Arts and Crafts sub-committee has released a calender of events for the Nada Habba scheduled for October first week.

The committee has organised a variety of competitions and camps for artistes, children and the members of the public between October 1 and 6 at Kalamandira and at JSS Women’s College.

The sub-committee has already sent invites to artistes to take part in the events.

Apart from holding competitions in drawing, rangoli and sculpture, the panel will conduct creative art camp for the artistes of application art, graphic arts and traditional arts. An exhibition of artefacts will be held and senior artists felicitated on the occasion.

While drawing competition for schoolchildren have been organised under three categories—primary school, higher primary and high school, rangoli competition for women has been organised in two categories-homemakers and college students. The rangoli competition will be held at JSS Women’s College in Saraswathipuram on October 2.

Art competition will also be held for the students of Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts (CAVA). Participants can work on topics like nature, animals, birds, heritage of Mysuru.

Five senior artistes, who have made remarkable contributions in the field of arts, will be feted with ‘Mysuru Kalagourava’ award on October 6 during the valedictory ceremony.
