KSBC seeks easing of responsibilities

KSBC president Jayakumar Patil and vice-president K Malleshaiah said the Authority has been entrusted with lot of tasks such as overseeing implementation of mid-day meal scheme and MGNREGS amongst others, which were not related to judiciary. “Except the Lok Adalat, there is nothing related to the judiciary,” said Patil.

He said that the issue was raised at the conference organised by the KSBC in Hubli and it will be brought to the notice of the Chief Justice of India, the President, Minister for Law and others. Patil said that the responsibility of conducting legal literacy programmes assigned at mofussil level should also be withdrawn.
