With the auspicious ‘Navratri’ season here, it’s the time for the special annual fast. The ‘Navratri Vrat’ is looked forward to by many.

This year, ‘Khandani Rajdhani’ is having a special ‘Vrat Thali’ till October 11.The special ‘Vrat Thali’ will have popular as well as lesser known regional delicacies for you to relish. The royal ‘thali’ includes three vegetable preparations, two ‘farsan’, two varieties of roti, two preparations of rice and ‘khichdi’, one salad, two chutneys, two sweets and one ‘papad’.

To avoid monotony, there will be a rotational menu, which means that even if you were to eat there on all 11 days, you’d get to savour new varieties and combinations every day! The ‘farsan’ spread includes the lip-smacking ‘Sabudana Vada’, ‘Farali Pattice’, ‘Banana Cutlet’, ‘Kuttu ke Pakode’, ‘Singara ke Pakode’, ‘Sabudana Tikki’, ‘Kachcha Kela Pattice’ and more’.

The delicious vegetable menu includes ‘Kele Ki Subzi’, ‘Sitaphal ki Subzi’, ‘Dahi Pudina Aloo’, ‘Khatta Meetha Kaddu’ and ‘Tomato Vatana among others. There is also the delightful ‘Tomato dal’, ‘Rajgira Kadhi’ and ‘Singhare ki Kadhi’.

The interesting salads include ‘Kakdi chopped’, ‘Boiled singdana, ‘Pineapple raita’, ‘Anardana raita’, ‘Potato salad and lots more. The amazing assorted breads give you a choice between ‘Rajgira Thaalipeeth’, ‘Rajgira Puri’, ‘Kuttu ki puri’, ‘Kuttu ke parathe’, ‘Rajgira thepla’ and ‘puris’.

The rice options comprise ‘Sabudana khichdi’, ‘Samo rice’ and ‘Aloo pulao samo’. For accompaniment, there’s the fantastic ‘Fruit chaat’, ‘Aloochat’, ‘Sweet potato chat’, ‘Sabudanapapad’, ‘Green chutney’ and ‘Singdana dahi chutney’. Wash it all down with some ‘Sweet lassi’, ‘Shikanji pudina chaas’ or pineapple juice. And for the most delicious sweet ending, dig into ‘Shrikhand mawa’, ‘Sabudana kheer’, ‘Sabudana laddoo’, ‘Sweet potato halwa’ or ‘Rajgira sheera’.
