You can look forward to an incredibly fashionable and yet edgy summer, at least when it comes to your closet. The colours return to the basics with a lot of earth-based tones along with Bohemian fashion trends. While you see a lot of earthy tones in the palette like moss green, eucalyptus, rustic red and earthy orange, there are a few neutrals too, like fusion coral, off-white, pink champagne and grey. Finishing off the list is golden yellow which is making the summer brighter than ever. “Blue and various shades of green and pink are the colours for this summer,” says Neeraj, the store manager of a fashion outlet.

A trend that is really big this summer is something that has been in our closets forever. Resurfacing from the dead are the ‘tie-dye’ prints but in a groovy, new avatar. This summer, you see them in a more grown-up fashion on cocktail dresses, sleek shirts and blouses.

Yellow is not at all mellow this summer and you could go out in a yellow boy shirts or a flowy yellow top. It is one of the most cheerful trends of the season and a great way to combine fashion trends would be to pick up a yellow, tie-dye top. Says Akanksha, a student who owns a tie-dye, yellow blouse, “I really like my top. I got it from Thailand actually. It’s nice and has a definite ‘summery feel’ to it.”

The fashion trends see a lot of inspiring patterns on clothing and accessories this summer. The Boho chic look is in, with loose, flowing clothes made from fine, light weight material. It is a great way to stay cool and trendy when the weather is exceptionally hot.

“We have just come out with the new line for the season and one of the big trends are the floral print, thin, silk blouses. They have been selling like hot cakes,” says Neeraj. Choosing colours that perfectly complement each other is a bit tough and there is a chance of ending up looking like a fashion disaster.

So you have the multiprint dresses and skirts that feature several perfectly-paired prints. “We have a lot of multi-print blouses and dresses this season in both earthy and neutral tones,” says Stacy working in a popular clothes chain. This is an effortless look and you will surely stand out with more than one colour that will be popular this season.
