The injured is Bojamma (67). She is being treated in JSS hospital in Mysore.

Bojamma was walking towards Mallangeri Government Primary School to drop her grandchildren. As she could not run when an elephant approached her, the elephant threw her from its trunk.

As a result, she has been severely injured. Hearing the cry of her grand children, neighbours visited the spot and took her to hospital. Inspite of the incident, the forest department officials are yet to reach the spot.
