Prabhakar Reddy, the City unit president had gone to the KPCC office seeking ticket to contest BBMP polls . According to the High Grounds police, Chetan, the Mysore unit president of the NSUI had come to support Reddy along with 150 workers.
Upon coming to know that Reddy’s appeal was not being considered. Chetan doused himself with kerosene. However, the local police and a few Congress workers prevented him from lighting a match.
Congress workers said that the attempted suicide was stage-managed. No case has been registered, police said.
