He was delivering the Dr S Kantha Datti memorial lecture organised by RGUHS, to mark the varsity’s “Foundation Day.”
Nayak said that poverty is directly related to health because as the poverty increases so does the need for medical care. “Therefore, the government should focus on poverty alleviation schemes,” he said.
He said that expensive nursing homes and visiting doctors will not solve the problems in developing countries as people will not have the affluence to afford these services.
