The food gowdowns should be confiscated and food must be distributed among commonmen, said Trade Union Centre of India Central Committee General Secretary Sanjay Singhwi.
Addressing a press meet, he said godowns are being sold to corporate families by the government. Several programmes have been initiated for the rich. Some of the labour organisations are following anti-labourer policy.
Rise in price of essential commodities have affected the labour class. The salary of the working class have been increased by 5 to 6 per cent. However, the price of essential commodities have increased by 17 to 18 per cent, he added.
