Godman sent to JC as police fails to produce case diary

Special Judge S K Sarwaria sent Dwivedi alias Ichchadhari Sant Swami Bhimanand Ji Maharaj Chitrakootwale (39) to judicial custody till tomorrow, refusing to allow the police to further interrogate the accused in their custody.

Delhi police had sought five days' more in their custody of the accused who was produced before the court at the end of six days in police custody.
The investigators claimed they had located the accused's properties worth Rs one crore at various places. He is alleged to be running a website for flesh trade.

They had sought his custodial interrogation claiming they had to verify entries made in the diaries of the accused mentioning the transactions carried out by him.
"The Investigating Officer (IO) is directed to present the diary in person and then only we may consider the Delhi police plea. You should first produce the case diary," the court said, sending the accused to judicial custody.

Dwivedi, who was alleged to be involved in four cases under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and one case of robbery, was arrested on March nine under the provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
The godman was alleged to have earned crores of rupees through the sex racket.
