Attack on family: Two succumb to injuries

Sharadamma (80) and her son Satyanarayana (48) succumbed to the injuries during treatment at a private hospital  on Monday.  The head of the family T G Narasimha Shastry (90) is on ventilator and continues to be critical. Ramaprasad (44), another son of the aged couple has recovered and is in stable condition, police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (traffic and crime) Rajendra Prasad told Deccan Herald that the investigation so far is inconclusive. “We are investigating the case from all angles - assault for theft, rivalry and others. The exact reason can only be known when Shastry regains consciousness and gives some statement,” he said.

In his statement Ramaprasad has said that there was an electric shock while operating boiler in the early morning. But, his claims are unfounded, the DCP added.  The four of the family were attacked under mysterious circumstances on Sunday morning.
