Indo-Portuguese fest is here

The cultural festival will offer a unique mix of Fado concerts, art exhibitions, conferences on languages, art, literature and culture, a film festival and more. The event will be inaugurated on March 19, 7.15 pm by the Ambassador of Portugal Luís Filipe Castro Mendes at the Alliance Francaise auditorium.

At 7.30 pm, there will be a concert by Fado singer Sonia Sirsat and accompanying guitarists at the Alliance Francaise. On March 20, 11 am, The Art of Azulejo will be inaugurated at the Chitrakala Parishat and will continue till March 22. On the same day, there will be conferences on languages and literature; art, cultural relations, history etc at the same venue. March 21 will see more conferences at Alliance and at 5 pm, the Portuguese Cinema Festival will be opened.

 At 7 pm, there will be a closing concert with Chico Fonseca and Sonia Sirsat, who will perform popular Goan Mando, Konkani, Goan and Portuguese numbers at Alliance. For details, call 23536090.
