RWH mela on March 20

The mela will be held at Bal Bhavan, Cubbon Park to observe ‘World Water Day 2010’ and will also address various queries in the the backdrop of the BWSSB making the RWH mandatory for new buildings on sites measuring 1,200 sq ft and above, and on existing sites of 2,400 sq ft and above.

Arghyam CEO Sunita Nadhamuni said the new regulation will come into effect from May 27, and the mela provides a platform for people to raise their queries and discuss various methods to implement it.”

Assistant Chief Engineer from BWSSB Narayan, who is also president of the Bangalore Jalamandali Abhiyantara Sangha, said, “We have been organising different events to mark World Water Day every year. We are happy to have an event regarding rainwater harvesting this year, since the new regulations will come into effect very soon.”

The mela is open to the public from 10 am to 5 pm and is free. It will also feature different stalls from RWH service providers, information desks and kiosks.  For details visit website: www.waterday.in
