JOIN USA fruit merchant and a truck driver were arrested on the charge of ‘accidentally’ killing a woman on Friday night on NR Road near Kalasipalyam. The fruit merchant pushed the woman, who fell on the road and was run over by the vehicle.
The deceased is identified as Sabina (30) a rag picker and a resident of Krishnarajapuram. The arrested are Mahesh (40) the fruit merchant and truck driver Shivanna (28).
Around 11 pm, Sabina went to meet Mahesh on NR Road. Mahesh, who was inebriated, picked a fight with Sabina and started to assault her. As she started to raise an alarm, public gathered at the spot and tried to nab Mahesh. He pushed Sabina and fled.
Sabina fell down and was run over by a speeding truck. She died on the spot, said the police. Mahesh and Shivanna have been arrested.
