2-day Karnataka Hakki Habba begins tomorrow

The Nisargadhama near Kamalapur in the taluk is all decked up for the third Karnataka Hakki Habba to be held on January 6 and 7. Ornithologists from across the country, photographers and bird enthusiasts are expec-ted to take part in the festival.

Special lectures by Vikram Grewal, Nazeem Sheikh and Sumit Sen, exhibition of rare photos of birds, interactions with avian experts, bird watch visits and screening of movies  are also part of the event.

The objective of the festival is to create awareness among the people about conservation of birds. Minister for Forests and Environment B Ramanath Rai is scheduled to inaugurate the festival on Friday.
