11 taken into custody in poaching case

The investigation team probing the poaching of sambar deer at Nettichowka Forest Range on Kemmangundi Road in Tarikere taluk have taken 11 poachers who were arrested on January 2, into custody on Sunday to continue the probe.

The team has taken poachers including sharpshooter Mohammed Sameer Ahmed, Meer Najeeb, Mohammed Rizwan, Akhter Ahmmed, Meer Mudasir Ali, Meer Nayar Ali, Sayyed Ahmmed to custody for three days.

A team of officials including Bhadra Wildlife division ACF Sharanabasappa and Tanigebailu RFO Ullas took the arrested to custody following the court order. They were taken to an undisclosed location for investigation.
