A 46-year-old labourer was killed in a collision between two two-wheelers on Varthur Main Road on Saturday evening.

The deceased identified as Kamal Burman was a resident of Varthur and a native of West Bengal. Burman was riding back home around 4.15 pm, when the incident took place.
Police said Burman was drunk and hit the bike coming in the opposite direction in a bid to overtake a car.

The other biker suffered minor injuries.

Passersby shifted Burman to a nearby private hospital but he was declared brought dead. Doctors confirmed that Burman had consumed alcohol beyond the permissible limit, added the police.

A case has been registered at HSR Layout police station.
