The BJP state executive committee meeting being held at Kalaburagi will not accord priority to the Rayanna Brigade issue, BJP state unit president B S Yeddyurappa has said.

“It is true that there is turmoil in the party. I had invited the disgruntled partymen for a discussion on January 19. But, they cited some reasons for their inability to attend the discussion. This is an internal issue and it would be sorted out within the party framework,” Yeddyurappa told reporters here on Friday. He was in the city to take part in the two-day BJP executive committee meeting which began on Friday.

He said that the national leaders of the party were monitoring the developments over Rayanna Brigade and they would take a suitable decision at an appropriate time.

Yeddyurappa said that the meeting would discuss the failure of the state government in tackling drought, deteriorating law and order in the state, railway projects and utilisation of drought relief released by the Centre.
