PESIT College cantered to a 52-27 victory over St Joseph’s PU College in the opening match of the men’s section of the 1st Malleshwaram Cup inter-college invitational basketball championship held at Malleshwaram Ground.
Sriram stole the limelight with an impressive tally of 23 points with support from Anish, who scored eight as they powered their side across the line. In the women’s section, Raima (19) led the charge for St Joseph’s Commerce College as they notched a thumping 62-22 win over BMS College of Engineering.
In another fixture that turned out to be a low scoring affair, RV College of Engineering edged Mount Carmel College 26-11. Sahana and Sonali top scored for RVCE with seven points each.
