Peter not involved in Sheena's murder: son

In a fresh twist in the sensational Sheena Bora murder case on Saturday, former Star India CEO Peter Mukerjea’s son came to his defence on Saturday, and shifted the blame on his stepmother Indrani Mukerjea. Rahul was in a live-in relationship with Sheena and wanted to marry her.

However, both Indrani and Peter were opposed as they were stepbrother and stepsister. Rahul is an important witness in the case, which is under trial by a special CBI court. In a open letter posted on his Twitter handle ahead of the commencement of the trial, Rahul said: “Peter was clearly not involved, nor was he aware of any crime allegedly perpetrated by Indrani, despite claims to the contrary. These important circumstances, which to date have not been pointed out, very clearly show that Peter was not ‘in the know’ nor was he involved in the crime. Hence, charges against Peter ought to be dropped.”

Rahul said Indrani had introduced Sheena and Mikhail as her siblings to everyone, including Peter. “Indrani obviously didn’t want it to be revealed that they were her children... Peter didn’t know the truth behind Sheena and Indrani’s relationship. If Peter asked Indrani whether there was any truth to these apparent revelations, she only denied it and claimed they were sisters. Evidently, there was no financial motive. Whatever Indrani may have done, was for her own personal reasons,” he said. Rahul said that Peter was clearly not involved and he was never allowed, by Indrani, to visit Guwahati to meet her parents.
