The formal launch saw a number of dignitaries assembling to promote books. Spread over 23,000 sq feet, the mall is divided into three floors and provides access to stationary, movies, toys, sports goods and books. The programme started with a Carnatic music concert which was enjoyed by everyone present.

The crowd was an interesting mix of people. There were a lot of old people who have been customers of this book store. They said they were happy that the mall was being opened in their neighbourhood. The crowd had some youngsters too. “I read a lot and would be looking forward to visiting the book store and picking up some good titles,” said Radhika, a student.

Some of the guests included Sudha Murthy, litterateur G S Shivarudrappa and Ramesh Aravind. The programme started with the beautiful rendition of the Ganesh Stuthi by Kritika who was joined on stage by Aarti later. This was followed by a short speech by Nitin Shah, the Managing Director of Sapna. “We are delighted to expand our horizons. We have received an outstanding public response at all our outlets,” he said.
Sudha Murthy said, “Books are a source of knowledge to students as well as everyone else. And I am really happy that Sapna Book House has increased its reach for others in the City.”

The store has something for everyone and book and music lovers recognise it as a destination to pursue their passion.
“Two whole floors of the place are dedicated to fiction, non-fiction and academic books. That is really convenient for customers,” said Venkat, a working professional. The new store is also following the energy conservation route and is the first one of its kind in India to have 100 percent eco-friendly lighting.
