Graduation is an occasion which makes every student nostalgic and it was nothing different for the students of 2nd PU at Mount Carmel College. The occasion was celebrated recently with much fanfare in the college auditorium.

It started off with welcoming the chief guest, IAS Dr Shalini Rajneesh, and other dignitaries. There was a welcome speech followed by a scintillating dance performance by the Indian Dance Association of the college. The participants captivated the gathering with their graceful moves, well-matched steps and vibrant costumes. It was evident that they had put their best foot forward for the performance and received great appreciation from the gathering.

The Western Music Association also mesmerised the audience with their beautiful musical rendition. Principal Sr Ashwini delivered an inspiring speech where he emphasised the need to maintain focus on one’s goals and excel in their chosen fields. He wished the students all the best for their future endeavours and a good life ahead. The girls also took part in a short mind yoga session.

Then came a power-packed performance by the Western Dance Association of the college. The girls on stage held everyone’s attention with their energetic moves and dynamic expressions.

And that was not all. There was another entertaining performance presented by the Dramatics Association while the glamour quotient was added when the fashion team performed in their splendid costumes and makeup.

Pooja Porwal, a student of 2nd PU, said, “Our college has given us the motivation and encouragement to be brave and strong and deal with anything that life throws our way. This day was filled with a lot of wonderful memories and it will be marked as an important date in my diary. Mount Carmel College has inspired all of us to become whatever we are today. I am proud to be a product of this institution.”

Another student, Isha Shah, was happy and a little emotional at the prospect of passing out. “This is the place where I have made so many lovely friends and enjoyed some of the best times of my life.

I will always savour these moments and Mount Carmel College will always hold a very special place in my heart. I thank the college for putting up such a beautiful programme and making my last few moments here really memorable.”

Many girls were also seen posing for selfies and recording fun videos with their friends. While for many others, it was an occasion to reminisce about the wonderful days spent in the college and depart with a strong promise to keep in touch.
