JOIN USB V Srinivasa Reddy, the managing director of Obulapuram Mining Company, had lodged a complaint with the Rural Police on November 12 last year, alleging a conspiracy to murder him.
The police had not registered the case and the Police Sub Inspector had issued a notice to S K Modi and Rahul Baldota on November 14.
The notice was challenged before the Circuit Bench of the High Court in Dharwad.
The Circuit Bench in its order pronounced on Friday directed the Police Sub Inspector to register a case and make it over to Director General of Police Ajai Kumar Singh.
The Circuit Bench further said that the DGP could entrust the investigation to any officer. In pursuance of the court orders, the Police Sub Inspector has registered the case against Baldota and S K Modi, sources said.
