<p>Jyoti Nivas College (Autonomous) recently organised ‘Arbitrium’, a two-day national level inter-college fest, conducted by The House of Commerce and Management every year to encourage students from various colleges to unveil their executive expertise and flair.<br /><br /></p>.<p>This year, the theme was ‘Sarvatra’ — Business Anywhere, Anytime. This theme was chosen focussing on the topic of globalisation. The fest was graced by Dr Sr Elizabeth C S, principal, Jyoti Nivas College. The chief guest was Kumaril Kapoor, senior director, CISCO Systems, and the guest of honour was Shekar Jayan, principal, Financial Training Institute.<br /><br />One of the events for ‘Sarvatra’ was ‘Best Manager’. The winner was Shiva Grover from Christ University, Bannerghatta Campus, who was awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000. <br /><br />‘Human Resource Management’, ‘Marketing and Public Relations’, ‘Banking and Finance’, ‘Moot Court’, ‘Business Quiz’ was a sponsored event by Entuze Academy and the winner was Loyola College, Chennai. They were awarded a cash prize and attractive vouchers.<br /><br />‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ and ‘Bull Run’ were other events organised to train students on how to trade in the stock market and the bull runner was Shiva K from RJS College. A new event titled ‘Stopwatch’ was conducted for the first time where one participant from each team was chosen to play a game defying time by applying their sharp instincts and reflexes to win within 60 seconds.<br /><br />A workshop oriented towards developing student awareness of E-banking and its various dimensions of usage and applicability in their day-to-day life was also organised as part of the fest.<br /><br />This year, the overall trophy was bagged by Christ University, Bannerghatta Campus. Overall, there were more than 250 participants in various events and the fest was a grand success.</p>
