K' taka clears 6 projects worth Rs 9,048 crore

The State High Level Clearance (SHLC) committee of the Government of Karnataka has approved six new projects in three sectors with a total investment of Rs 9,048.39 crore.The SHLC committee met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday and cleared these projects.

The government in a release on Saturday noted that on completion, these projects will create employment opportunitys for 35,487 people.

The IT/ITeS sector has received major investments from two companies – Oracle India and L&T Construction — with total project cost of Rs 4,518 crore. Bluestone Tech Park too got the committee’s approval to set up an Integrated IT Park at Hoskote in Bengaluru with an investment of Rs 2,051 crore.

The proposal of Corner-stone Property Developers, which has plans to develop an Integrated Entertainment Theme Park, tourism-cum sports hub in 300 acres of land at Devanahalli in Bengaluru at an investment of Rs 1,330 crore. This is to create an employment opportunity for 5,540 people.

 Devi City Industrial Park too received the government’s approval for setting up an Integrated Multi Product, Multi sector Hitech Industrial Park in 1,054 acres at Hukkeri in Belgaum district at an investment of Rs 1,149 crore. The project is expected to create about 1,000 jobs.

Karnataka has also been attracting the global audience with its integrated and strategic growth plans that offer immense investment potential across its varied sectors in manufacturing, agri business and food processing, technology, energy and infrastructure, along with tourism.
