Techie in jail for posting video of sex with ex-wife online

A techie from Bengaluru who had recorded and uploaded the sexual act with his estranged wife, while they were in a  live-in relationship, on porn sites is now cooling his heels behind bars.

The incident came to light late on Wednesday. The suspect — identified as Hemanth — was working with a reputed company. He is a native of Tarikere in the district.

Hemanth befriended the victim, a sister of his friend (also a girl), pursuing engineering course at a college in Bengaluru. The couple later started living in. It was mostly during that time Hemanth had recorded the sexual act with her. The two married later, but the relationship did not last long, owing to differences.

When the victim learnt that the act had been recorded, she lodged a complaint with the police. The police summoned the duo, brokered peace and let them off with an advice, without registering the complaint.

Later, the girl took a transfer to a college in Chikkamagaluru. Hemanth uploaded the explicit content on YouTube, Facebook and a few porn sites in January this year.
The girl lodged a complaint in this regard with Superintendent of Police K Annamalai. The case was handed over to the district crime investigation bureau.

The suspect told the investigators that they had married without the consent of their parents. Later, the girl befriended another man and severed ties with Hemanth, enraging him. Hemanth, with the intention of foiling her marriage prospects, thought of baring it all online.

The police gave the couple two days to settle the matter among themselves. Hemanth pleaded guilty and wanted to reconcile. However, the girl was unwilling and lodged a complaint of sexual assault. The police booked a case of sexual assault and under the IT Act, 2000, on February 10. He has been remanded in judicial custody.
