Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Wednesday arrested a Bescom assistant engineer while receiving bribe from an electrical contractor.
The accused is Nagaraj N, assistant engineer at Marathahalli. The complainant, an electrical contractor, had approached the Bescom office requesting to shift the electric pole from a construction site.
Nagaraj demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh. The ACB officials registered an FIR based on the complaint filed by the contractor. Nagaraj was trapped while accepting a bribe of Rs 75,000 on Wednesday.
